Escola Concept stood out during the Campus Party, an international event that celebrated its 12th edition in Brazil, with a full exhibit of topics related to technology, entrepreneurship and science. Among the 12,000 participants, 8,000 pitched their tents to extend the five day event well into the night.

Concept-led workshops took place in the MakerSpace of Rede Fab Lab Brasil, an area for inspiration and sharing, that offered free workshops and demonstrations of machines, such as how to use and operate a 3D printer, laser cutter and plotter. "The partners of Fab Lab Brasil believe in learning through Maker Culture, building a network for open innovation", says Graziella Matarazzo, technology coordinator at Concept São Paulo. "Concept was the only school that collaborated for this network during the Campus Party."

Similar to our learners during recent learning opportunities at school , "campuseros" were invited to make and personalize eco bags, reusing recycled banners, and to build pop-up cards with an integrated LED circuit. The purpose of  these projects was to connect to the ideas of spreading joy and kindness, which is a focus across the Concept curriculum through the "Kindness Generates Kindness" initiative and the studies about the science of joy presented by the designer Ingrid Fetell Lee.
